This is a tribute to all of the victims of 9/11. The emotions that you will feel from viewing this are overwhelming, and so if you are not ready for this, you may want to read through the lyrics to the song instead. God Bless the USA By:Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life, And I had to start again with just my children and my wife, I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today, 'Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away. I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A. From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee, Across the plains of Texas from sea to shining sea. From Detroit down to Houston and New York to L.A., There's pride in every American heart and it's time we stand and say: I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A. I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.

KABUL, Afghanistan - U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan marked the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks Tuesday by watching in silence as an American flag was lowered to half-staff at a U.S. base. Maj. Gen. Robert Cone told some 100 U.S. soldiers that there is "no alternative" to victory over terrorism. "We are here now six years later, not as a conquering force, not as an invader seeking to vanquish the Afghans, but rather to do what is right _ to seek out and destroy our common enemy," Cone said. "As allies, we will train and equip the Afghans. We will help them to provide for their people because we are Americans."

"THE LADY" (THE STATUE OF LIBERTY) By: Dana Holland, Staten Island NY I wonder what she thought As she stood there, strong and tall. She couldn't turn away, She was forced to watch it all. Did she long to offer comfort As Her country bled? With her arm forever frozen High above her head. She could not shield her eyes She could not hide her face She just stared across the water Keeping Freedom's Place. The smell of smoke and terror Somehow reduced her size So small within the harbor But still we recognized..... How dignified and beautiful On a day so many died I wonder what she thought, And I know she must have cried. This was written on the evening of September 11, 2001

Well Boops, if I had been there, I would have been crying right along with you. That evening, we all came outside of our homes. With the air traffic system shut down, I remember being struck by the eerie silence, wondering what tomorrow would bring. My dear hubby went back inside and brought out his guitar. He began playing "God Bless America," and we sang with tears streaming down our faces. Soon others joined in, and for that moment, we watched, we listened, we lit our candles, we kept the flag waving, and our neighborhood came together and yes, we cried.

Well I got the strangest news from my sister, who went to a memorial service for AnnMarie Riccoboni with her daughter. Her daughter just got back her purse drivers licence and wallet recently and in the wallet was 9 dollars and 11 cents. They also got some other info as to where in the building she was since she never made it up to her office on the 86th floor because they were late because they went to breakfast for her birthday.
