I being a Veteran from the Vietnam era certainly do support our troops and ALL troops that are fighting to keep freedoms alive. There are many reasons our Troops serve our country. I may not always agree on the politics that cause these troops to be involved, but I do support the troops themselves. God Bless them all and I wish them the best.  Azn

I think we put our troops in harm's way by being divided in this country.  The bickering in the news media has hurt many in the armed forces, in my view.

If they want to talk things over in the Congress or the Senate, fine, but to splash everything out into the media, for strictly politics sake, isn't doing our wonderful troops any good.

I agree. Our military men and women have not received proper credit due then since the Korean War. They even have been given less official honors from the military itself. In each conflict since WWII fewer and fewer Medals have been given to those who deserve them. I was quite surprised to learn that in the Iraq and Afganistan War only 2 Medals of Honor have been awarded. If the military itself does not recognize the acts of its soldiers than what can we really expect from the public at large. Thank Goodness, some folks can see beyond this and do honor and respect the service which so many American Military Vets have done.

Cry   Not all injuries leave visible scars.  Cry
So, for everyone who has served or is serving our country
and protecting our freedom, I think all of you deserve a medal of honor!

 Shocked

Got the ole Vietnam shivers from the comments of Pelosi in congress. So it starts, making a political football of the troops and what they have been asked to do, effecting both their moral and their safety. If its broke, fix it now, play politics and the blame game later once their all saftly home.

That's great you could send another package off to the troops for them to enjoy. I am sure they appreciate that.  Wink

We have been doing this for well over a year now, and I also did this for some  of the armed forces when  they were over there in the 90s.

After the attacks on September 11, 2001, most of the citizens in America
said, "Thank God I wasn't on one of those planes.", but the military person, the warriors,
said, "Dear God, I wish I could have been on one of those planes. Maybe I could
have made a difference."

Written by Army Reservist, Charles Grennel in response to a teacher complaining that the military are not good role models for children.  The letter was long and described that people are either sheep, (most American citizens), wolves (terrorist or evil people)  or sheepdogs. (military and police).  It was a very well written piece.
