God Bless ALL the Servicemen and Serviceladies, past and present for their gallant work and sacrifice in protecting our country.  God Bless Them and God Bless America!

As I grow older, I find that the tears come more frequent, in thinking about the sacrifice those wonderful people are doing, so we may live in peace.

I know how you feel. Wars affect everyone, don't they, and we often forget "the little ones left behind."
Here's my box of tissues.  Cry

I Miss You, Daddy

There it is night. Here it is day.
While you are sleeping, I am at play
Running and laughing but stopping to say
I miss you, Daddy, when you are away

We may be mountains and oceans apart
So high and wide, but that's OK
My love can find you wherever you are
(or how 'bout I meet you half way?)
I tell my heart, "Don't be lonely" but it won't obey
I miss you, Daddy, when you are away

At breakfast and dinner and bedtime we pray
For God to protect you and help you be brave
I smile and remember why you are so great....

Tickles and wrestling at the end of the day
Teaching me, Listening to the things that I say
Hugging me, Kissing all over my face
Fighting so bravely for the United States...
Oh, I miss you, Daddy, when you are away

We may be mountains and oceans apart
So high and wide, but that's OK
My love can find you wherever you are
(or how 'bout I meet you half way?)
I tell my heart, "Don't be lonely" but it won't obey
I miss you, Daddy, when you are away

I miss you so badly when you are away
Keep fighting bravely for the United States [/b]

Cry Lots more tissues, please.  Cry [/color]

My nephew just returned from Mosul Iraq with news about the football I mailed him this past summer. Its was well used by many. Well, I contacted Target and they agreed donate  20 foiotballs to our troops in Iraq.

I'm watching Neil Cavuto on Fox and I think this is another great idea...
"Operation Happy Note" gives musical instruments to our troops.
I think it is a true "mom and pop" biz with pop personally packing each guitar all by himself!!

They are simply the Best of the Best.  There are many older American's crying today for what happened in their lives 65 years ago.  My brother was telling me today he had tears flowing.

He wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for the Atomic bomb.  He said some think it was a horrific thing to do, but he, and perhaps 50,000 other Americans are alive today because of two bombs that were exploded in 1945.

God Bless them all!  Old and young!

I salute ALL the men and women who are serving in the military service. Many are separated from their family and friends. Some are recovering in hospitals as a direct result of their duty. Wherever they are they should know that hundreds of thousands of people are thinking about them and what they do daily to carry out their mission. We wish them an uneventful and safe holiday. We also hope that a resolution can come for the war in Iraq as soon as possible.

I also salute my father who served in the Aleutian Islands and Alaska during World War II.

For just a little while during World War I, there was peace on earth, good will toward men.
German and British front-line soldiers sang carols, exchanged gifts, and played soccer during a Christmas truce.
All because the focus was on Christmas. Happens every time. There's something about Christmas that changes people.
It happened over 2000 years ago in a little town called Bethlehem.
It's been happening over and over again down through the years of time.
