Our dear friend Kathy posted this on the Lupus/MCTD forum...
Subject: Christmas Cards
Great Idea!!!
When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address.
If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get.
A Recovering American Soldier c/o W-boy Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Avenue,NW Washington,D.C. 20307-5001
pass it on

Will do!
I will put this over at the CSC also! And for matter of fact, I will pass this along to quite a few other forums! Thanks!

Repost from Train Station/Diner: In no way do I mean to dampen the spirit of this post, but while it seems to be a very worthy cause, due to security reasons, neither the hospital nor the U.S. Postal Service can deliver cards addressed in this manner. However, as a result of a partnership between Pitney Bowes, Inc. and the Red Cross, your cards can get to our veterans if you send them to this address instead: Holiday Mail for Heroes PO Box 5456 Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456
Along with the guidelines listed at this site:
http://www.redcross.org/email/saf/
Red Cross volunteers will receive and bundle the cards, which will be shipped by Pitney Bowes Government Solutions. Then, Red Cross volunteers at the medical facilities will distribute the cards throughout the holiday season. Just affix adequate postage and make sure they are postmarked by December 10th. I know that it will make the day of each soldier who gets one!
