I would like to ask all of our Coffeenole Family to say a special prayer for Paula! She has been diagnosed with Folicular Lymphoma!
She needs our Prayers and Support!

My Dr called with results from testing I had done on Monday -stage 1- I am being told, only 1 node is affected. He says this type of lymphoma grows slow and many times does not require treatment for years because of its slow growth, hmmmm . Said if there was any type of lymphoma a person was gonna have it is this kind....
Dr's (3 of them) have decided that a watch and wait approach is in order and I will need to be checked often.
They are saying that slow growing such as this doesn't really respond to most forms of cancer treatment and that I will need to be monitored with frequent physical exams and blood testing.....Also says that it is such a slow growing from that if they decide on treatment, it would most likely be only radiation.
Although they are talking of going ahead and taking the node out which they said would be done as out patient.
I have stated to them - nothing personal but I do need a 2nd opinion away from their offices and they said they understood. So I will be getting a second opinion.
All other tests have come back good they stated although I do have a very enlarged thyroid gland on the right side which they are referring to my regular Dr. for treatment.
So, this is it for now.....And time to see another Dr. to see what they say!
I am told that the Dr's that I have been seeing are some of the best which is good but I just want to be careful and have another opinion from someone not affiliated with them....
After talking with Janzi, her parents both have lymphoma and her dad has a slow growing type as this...So, I am hopeful anyhow.....T
This isn't great news but it is good news!

I'm gonna take the Diagnosis as Grand news! It could have been way worse! Keep us posted on any new developements and it goes without saying my Thoughts and Prayers are with you!

Guess I will give y'all an update on myself also..... Got my 2nd opinion, they agree with the first.....
I go back this next thursday the 11th to see where we go from here..
