good morning everyone, wanted to post this update on janzisme - here is a post from her from bubbles place, please continue keeping her in your prayers, she needs as many as she can get. Jan's post; hey all, just an update to let you know about my day ... which actually started at about 1:00 this morning … I woke up thirsty … as I was getting up, I realized my niteshirt was soaking … thought I probably was just having some nite sweats, not unusual for me … I went into the bathroom and realized my shirt was soaked with a clear fluid mixed w/ some blood … the smaller of my incisions was leaking – BIG time … like a faucet that hadn't been turned off all the way … dripping down my body and splashing on my bathroom rug … called to my love and he came running … told him to look at the bed, it was soaked … so my love was trying to staunch my flowing, ripped the sheets off the bed and started doing laundry, called the emergency number we were given and spoke to the on-call doc … come to find out, the 'pocket' that was left from the mass that was removed filled w/ fluid (edema) and needed an outlet, henceforth the flood … the pathology showed that the in addition to the tumor being bad (which we already knew) the 2 suspect cells were bad and he removed 6 lymph nodes and 5 of those were bad … not what I was hoping to hear … I will be having a port put in next tues for my chemo, which will start in another couple weeks, oncologist wants me to heal a bit more before he starts any infusions … chemo will last btwn 4-5 months, then will follow-up with a couple months of radiation … then end up with an oral med that I will take daily for the next 5 years …

Copied this from Bubbles Place!
just talked w/ my surgeons office, they are going to squeeze me in at 2:45 this afternoon ... just having a major concern about this one site ... it's not healing and if if doesn't heal, they won't start my chemo ... just prolongs everything ... so, maybe he'll throw a stitch in to help the healig and will stop the oozing ...
You are in my Thoughts and Prayers Janz!

morning all ... a beautiful fall day here in new england ... a crisp 51° with the sun shining - groovy day!
start my first round of chemo tomorrow morning ... not looking forward to that, but it is a necessary evil I'm told ... wish me well as I am a bit on the scared side ... but I'll get thru this and be fine fine fine!
My thoughts and Prayers are with you Janz!

Hang in Janz, it's no picnic, but some people tolerate it pretty well, although I can't say I cared for it. It does the trick, though-I'm still walking around and doing my thing six years later, and it's a dim memory.

my neighbor just found out she has lung cancer. they told her with chemo they might be able to clear her up.you don't find that option very often.so there are some good endings.
