They are a modern day version of highway men convincing the novice and the computer ignorant that they have fatal and serious problems when in fact they have minor and self- fix it soloutions. Whats the addage when all else fails read the manual. They wanted to charge over 300 dollars to fix when all I had to do was re configure my security settings

the goblin understood that most members here would always remain in the dark about their system in depth, "windows" after all was a hidden system where the only ones that truly understood it were those inside working for microsoft or those who hacked it, at least by this thread the members of the coffeenole would begin to understand that "open source"  means unhidden, in fact most solutions to their problems were simple once the member had the information but two factors play in any problem "pin pointing the cause of the problem" and "working the solution" of which both can take time especially on a hidden system like windows, anyway in Europe there is no geek squad but the goblin had learned long ago that it was better to try the computer forums first having a running backup system ready because forums were slow and then the goblin said "...what do I learn if I let others mend my system for me..." which is why after having his computer repaired a few times he vowed to become able to repair them for himself but that was then, now he uses malwarefree linux on an old windows98 laptop watching all those people who are now supposed to upgrade to windows Vista knowing that once they have paid and upgraded to it microsoft will bring out windows Vienna in 2009
